I would imagine a high voltage/milliamp output device would render any microchip useless. Such high tech wizardry always has very low tech countermeasures.

Creative engineers will find a way around it. They may have already developed a chip that cannot be affected by outside sources - such as, what you described.

HAVE BEEN CURIOUS,

What kinds of DO IT YOURSELF options might there be to protect one's tower type stand computer etc. from EMP? EMI? PULSES that fry unprotected chips etc??? Maybe it's silly if the whole electrical system is fried but I'd still sort of like to know. . . and consider . . . How much thickness of what . . . iron? . . . . lead? . . . around such machines would work?
