What kinds of DO IT YOURSELF options might there be to protect one's tower type stand computer etc. from EMP? EMI? PULSES that fry unprotected chips etc??? Maybe it's silly if the whole electrical system is fried but I'd still sort of like to know. . . and consider . . . How much thickness of what . . . iron? . . . . lead? . . . around such machines would work?

This is a novel idea, but it will be a very, very, very, longtime before it could even be realized at a level that most here seem to think. The logistics of this happening on a large scale are phenomenal.
