I totally agree.
And I'm glad to see that Utah congressman James Hansen is at the forefront of this fight. From www.house.gov/hansen:
(That is one of those RED states, right?)
That's a pretty cynical take on DC, which includes President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Ari Fleischer, Donald Rumsfeld, and some other people I don't consider corrupt. This fabrication of wilderness research is disgusting and should be exposed, but I don't think the entire Bush adminstration was in on it. It reminds me of what archeologists do who are trying to prove a thesis-- they go ahead and take a lot of liberties with what they find (or conveniently don't find) in order to make their case.
While I admit there is a fine line between inept and corrupt, my problem isn't with what President Bush and his close team have done it's those things that they have not done or pushed away that add to my cynicism. Read through all of the other links throughout this thread from all contributors, and then ask why very little has been done to expose the entrenched bureaucracy and their socialist supporters across the board. Read up on Klamath and then come back and defend Norton.
Now if only we could get this much attention re the Clinton's monkey business!!!!
