Just shows you how vicious those democRats are: One wee slip-up and you're, like, history. Totally. Sheesh. You'd think we were living in Iosef Stalin's Soviet Union or something. Give the guy a second chance, the same kind of second chance they'd give Mumia!

This is one difference between the parties. Since 1952, there's been a Nixon, Dole or Bush on every Republican Presidential ticket except for 1964. If you look at the primaries, Reagan lost in 1976, but was back in 1980. Dole, well, let's not even go there. And of course there was Nixon. Defeated in 1960, he came back in 1968 and won.
