For America, to whom this fable is addressed,
the question that occurs is, what constitutes "poking at the hornets' nest?" The reality is that the mere existence of a prosperous America
that has the tools for creating that prosperity,
tools which the "hornets" abjure,
is sufficient provocation for those hornets to be enraged.
They cannot duplicate the prosperity so they must strike against it
and hope to bring it to dust. Then their envy will be assuaged and they can say
,well it wasn't so great,
it did not last.
