Context is everything. There was a thread posted only a few hours ago arguing that Bush Jr. should give her a high paying tax payer funded job. I take it you think that would not be proper and I can see why.

GS ranking is one of the government scales for civilian employees. A GS-15 is as high as you go, generally, unless one enters the Senior Executive Service (SES) or other similar program. A GS-15 wage is pretty high, but I don't think her step was clearing $100K. I do think she should be able to find work however. There are thousands of jobs she could do. Maybe won't pay a GS-15 wage, but she'd be pulling a paycheck.

So what's she doing unemployed for almost a year? Especially if she has a skill set that's worth anywhere near $100K in the private sector labor market?

You seem upset. I was a little shaken when...

You're projecting.

Now, what is it that really upsets you about Linda Tripp and the Bush's? Why have you spent the past 7 hours camped out on the "What Is Bush Hiding?" thread and the "Linda Tripp, President Bush, & Republican Party" thread and now this one?

Why are you asking all the stupid questions?

Maybe you knew all along. It was news to me. Tell me if any part of it is mistaken. FR is a great news source especially when everyone pitches in with what they know. I've had to wait on long compiles tonight but I did manage to get in a night out ;-)

Lewinsky confidante Tripp avoids foreclosure on her Columbia home

COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) _ It looks like Linda Tripp _ famous for her once-secret recordings of conversations with White House intern Monica Lewinsky that led to President Clinton's impeachment _ is not going to lose her Columbia home after all.

CitiMortgage Inc. had filed a foreclosure action in Howard County Circuit Court against Tripp late last month, noting a mortgage balance of $116,098.61, including late charges and interest, but dropped the filing this week.

Tripp's lawyer Joseph Murtha said Friday his client had caught up on her overdue mortgage payments, but not in time to prevent the initial foreclosure filing.

Howard County Circuit Court Judge Dennis Sweeney signed the foreclosure dismissal this week, and the action was recorded in court files Friday.

Murtha, who defended Tripp in the state's unsuccessful prosecution on wiretap charges, said she hasn't lived in the house for months, and has been out of work since she was fired from the Department of Defense.

Her long unemployment made her miss some payments on the mortgage, although Murtha was not sure how many.

``Linda's been juggling her resources and doing whatever she can to make sure she pays her bills,'' Murtha said.

Tripp currently lives in Middleburg, Va., Murtha said, and had until recently rented out the Columbia home.

Tripp surreptitiously taped recordings of Lewinsky confiding a sexual relationship with Clinton. Tripp lost her job at the Pentagon after she refused to resign like other political appointees on the last day of Clinton's term, her lawyer has said. The Defense Department said her termination letter was routine and that she was not singled out.

She had hoped to find another government job, but has not been rehired, Murtha said.

Tripp earned nearly $100,000 a year as a public affairs specialist at the Defense Department's Defense Manpower Data Center in Arlington, Va. She had been in a civil service job in the White House under former President Bush before getting a political appointment, pay raise and new job at the Pentagon in 1994.

I'm sure she can still use some financial assistance until she's employed. This is a short-term fix.

"Tripp earned nearly $100,000 a year" according to the source in post #33. So that part's accurate. I wonder if GS-15 describes a pay scale or a skill set? There's a certain irony that she was a "public affairs" specialist.

Lewinsky confidante Tripp avoids foreclosure on her Columbia home

Dec 15, 2001

COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) _ It looks like Linda Tripp _ famous for her once-secret recordings of conversations with White House intern Monica Lewinsky that led to President Clinton's impeachment _ is not going to lose her Columbia home after all.

=====================

The article fails to state why Linda Tripp was moved from her civil service position to a presidential appointment position. The Clintons and their helpers are always thinking ahead. They couldn't really fire her because of the high exposure of the impeachment investigation and because of her whistleblower status. They did manage to paint her as the villain of the scandal through the politics of personal destruction, change her job status and make her as miserable as possible. Punishment for telling the truth? Then, as one of the Impeached Rapist's final acts in office, he had her fired from the appointed position.

Clinton made her a GS-15? What was she before that?

Why are you spending 7+ hours of your life talking about someone you seem to despise so much?

-You've already said you didn't want to see any photos of her when you went to a link that was posted ("Do you promise there aren't any Tripp pics?")

-You've insinuated she's after her "15 minutes of fame."

-You've made the comment that "she not only tells stories out of school, she makes them up?"

-You've said you thought "she was after a book contract."

-You tried your damnedest to get people on the other Tripp thread to call her "dispicable".

Gee, you seem to have some unresolved issues with Linda Tripp. Shall I assume that you're Kenneth Bacon or one of the other idiots who she worked for? Or should I just assume that you simply have some kind of a Tripp fetish?

Save all your sanctimonious, transparent "questions" and smiley faces for someone who'll believe it.

I'm from Texas. I know horsesh*t when I see it.

Ordinarily, I would tell you to get bent. But you've done such a good job keeping this thread front and center that I'll just say that I'm glad Linda was able to stave off foreclosure for now. Hopefully, the D.C. Chapter's efforts--and those of other FReepers who want to help a friend in need-- will help keep a few more wolves at bay.

Tell Linda she needs to move to Texas. They let us "keep the house" down here. ;-)
