I had a guy break into my house. Caught him too. Made him sit on the couch while I told him how the leftists have ruined everything. Started off with the limpwrist Greeks in Athens. I went on for hours. I was just getting to the Burr-Hamilton dispute when I went to the kitchen for another beer and came back and he had hung himself off a curtain rod. Poor guy, must'f been depressed for committing his crime.

2nd amendment bump. Keep the perps in prison where they belong or juice them. Only way to change them. Up to 45% of all crime is committed by a UNLICENSED, UNREGISTERED, GOVERNMENT SUPERVISED CONVICTED FELON ON PROBATION OR PAROLE! http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/ascii/ppvsp91.txt

You know that, and I know that. But when is the government going to do something about it?

Thanks, Ma'am! You've done yourself, your community, and the nation a favor.

What a sad story. Sad that she only got one of them!

Too bad there aren't (weren't) more people like you. I grew up to believe that "guns were bad" and if you kept a gun in the house, children would be hurt or killed.
It took a brush with crime against my property (thank God, not against my person) and 8 years of the Klintoons to convince me that I had been deceived.
I wish I could go back in time to teach my 24-year-old tree-hugging (but PERFECT in every other way! LOL!) daughter back then what I know now. But, I'm working on her. And when I am blessed to have grandchildren, I will teach them about guns and gun safety.

Perhaps we should not waste time but go ahead and start a legal defense fund for this heroic lady!

I mentioned this on a duplicate thread, but I have a suspicion that maybe the husband hired these two guys to kill her. I think the fact that he was conveniently out of the house when they broke in is one suspicious factor. Burglars usually (but not always) case the place until they know the house will be empty. The perps aren't teenagers-they're grown men. And they assaulted the woman. Did they try to rape her? Sex offenders usually don't travel in pairs.
I may be completely off base here, but I might turn out to be on the right track. If I were the police I'd thoroughly check out the husband and his finances. Maybe I watch too many detective shows on Discovery and A&E, but there's more to this story than meets the eye, I'm sure.

That thought crossed my mind, too. There was a similar situation in my hometown about 10 years ago, except the woman was killed. It took quite awhile, but they ended up pinning it on the husband.
I'd check to see if this guy had a big LI policy on her!
To: Bill Rice
Remember, if I turn out to be on the right track, I want credit for being the first to mention it. Maybe I should get a whole thread dedicated to my inquiring mind and brilliant intelligence! LOL!

But this is FR, there's no shortage of that here!
Brilliant intelligence is the norm. (Except for a few who will remain nameless)
To: Bill Rice
Although you're probably right, it often seems like the opposite is true. I've found I have to separate the wheat from the chaff on FR, and most of it seems like chaff. But the wheat makes it all worthwhile!

Investigators are searching for the other intruder. They describe him as a white man, 5'10" to 6' tall, 25 to 35 years old, slender with dark wavy hair. He was seen wearing a black leather coat. ...and wearing pants with a large crap stain on the bottom.
