Yep, she did the right thing. Proud of her. Many of the people that voted for Scott Pruitt were really torn between Pruitt and Sullivan. Keating could see that the ones that voted for Pruitt would likely vote for Sullivan.

Thanks -- wondered if she would go through with withdrawing since it was rumored today that the RNC had been talking to her in order to avoid a run-off! IMO don't think she should have run with him still being the Governor. Hadn't heard too much about it here in the OKC area and was shocked when she only got 30%. Personally I would not have voted for her!

Class maybe. Party loyalty maybe. But the first real skill of any politician is to learn how to count votes. Sounds like she figured that one out.

As she rightly surmised, I would have voted for Sullivan since Pruitt was a choice.

The Keatings are a class act. I worked for Frank in his unsuccessful '84 attempt to unseat Jones. I always thought they were sort of "Middle of the Road" Republicans (I'd like more conservative)--but by today's standards, I guess they are far-right!

Then there are us who have the ping turned off..... LOL. I guess we just miss out.

An OK bump

Ok, let me see if I can ping the great Oklahoma Freepers!

Thanks for the ping!
Cathy Keating always seemed to be very nice...but I never got the feeling that she'd
actually have the stuff for the rough-'n-tumble of politics (like a Margaret Thatcher).
Well, sounds like the Republicans might be able to hold onto that seat as the
friction of a run-off is avoided.
(Too bad the Huskers tagged the Sooners...but it's fun seeing most of the country
a bit irate at having NU get a shot at the title after that blowout by the Colorado Buffs!)

Thanks. I wish I felt more enthusiasm for the Keatings, or the male member of the team at least.

(Too bad the Huskers tagged the Sooners...but it's fun seeing most of the country a bit irate at having NU get a shot at the title after that blowout by the Colorado Buffs!) It wasn't the Huskers who did the Sooners in - they would have met in a rematch in Dallas with a chance for redemption. No, it was the fiasco with Okie State that we get to live with for the next year.
OSU coach Les Miles is having problems with excess cranial pressure. Have no idea how serious that may be.
Thanks for the ping, PKM. I think Cathy Keating has done the right thing. Her campaign just didn't seem to get much traction.
