We went to another local tavern afterward for a little celebration. I have Nitro's flag in my possession, and will bring it to the next freep event--it's had battle experience already, and emerged unscathed.

Thanks for the ping. Good going, you guys. Did anyone go to Cooper Union to hear what Jesse Jackson and Paul Begala had to say?

I haven't heard from anyone about the Cooper Union thing; actually I haven't heard anything at all about what happened, not even a press release. It would be interesting to hear what went on in there. But I just couldn't do two freeps in one week. I had to choose between losers whining about the 2000 election and losers whining about this "racist war", figured the latter group had a trendier topic and deserved my attention more.

Lawsuit? Eh... Wouldn't be worth it, I suspect. I sustained more physical damage at the bar afterward, believe me.

Infiltrating the BELLY OF THE BEAST -- Nice job of shakin' things up! BTW -- Are paint-ball guns legal in NYC ;-)?

Yeah, too bad you didn't have a tape recorder -- no telling what kind of anti-Americn rhetoric Ramsey Clark might have regurgitated. What a bunch of mutants...

Slightly off-topic, but I took a few flyers from the church as well. Here's one:

WELCOME
to Community Church of New York
a liberal option

Ours is a free church, dedicated to the search for truth and the love of humankind.
We believe in knowledge, for there is no help in ignorance...
in reason, for without it we surrender to the blind forces of falsehood and prejudice...
in compassion, for revenge and hatred destroy the spirit...
in love, for it is life's most creative power...
in community, for none flourishes alone.
There is no dogma in this church. We seek to grow in the search for truth, knowing that there is no end to its revelation.
We seek fulfillment of our highest hopes, our deepest needs, in this beloved community where no one is a stranger.
(affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association)

There's more in the same vein. You could go blind trying to find the word "God" in their reading material.

LOL, we only survived about three minutes into the program. I imagine Ramsey Clark was going to talk about how this whole thing is about oil (yawn), since that's what many of his articles on the IAC website seem to say. The stuff on that site is insane, and they believe every word of it. They've gone way past the standard "it's our fault, we deserved it" nonsense, they really believe America is the villain in every situation.

And no matter what situation they're discussing, they always manage to make it about Mumia Abu-Jamal and Vieques at the same time. If we were to invade Venus they'd find a way to relate it to the "oppression" of their brothers in Vieques. What IS it with these characters and Vieques?

Standing ovation for you three - way to go - took a lot of courage to go into the "belly of the beast" - and I know those IAC goons hate it when someone "rains on their parade". Good show and EAGLES UP!

It was actually alot of fun!

As usual just the sight of the good ole' Stars and Stripes sent them into a violent frenzy! Still it took a least half-a-dozen of those limp-wristed commies to hustle me out!!</bragging off>

This organization is not about the truth; Dissention is one thing, but this is clearly an enemy camp operating within our borders with the overt mission to topple and destroy everything America stands for. This is an infestation that needs "treatment."

You know, even though this is a city of eight million, I just plain RESENT the fact that they're able to get 300+ people together in one room. Just seems like more than our fair share of commies, frankly. Grrr.

A man I believe I had seen speaking at the DC protest took the microphone up front. It was the usual stuff you hear at these things--the bombing is hurting people, the Bush administration's "war on terrorism" has institutionalized racial profiling and unjust imprisonment here in the U.S., yada yada. But I do remember him saying that "we should take George Bush at his word" when he says he intends to pursue and uproot terrorists organizations wherever they exist in the world--oddly, he didn't seem to think that was a GOOD thing at all. He thought it was downright sinister. He said, "We must stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Somalia, Colombia, Vieques, and Korea--"

Oh, what a bunch of leftist puke!
