[history]
December 14, 2001 -- The criminal probe into former President Bill Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich picked up new steam yesterday when a judge ordered the fugitive financier's lawyers to turn over their papers on the case.
Manhattan federal Judge Denny Chin's ruling offered a rare peek into the long-running secret grand-jury probe of Pardongate and opens the door for new potential evidence.

It ain't Ron Brown's head or Chinagate, but it is a Clinton crime that is being actively investigated by the DoJ.
This should put to rest any claims that President Bush is covering up for or protecting Clinton.
It is also an example of an investigation of Clinton that is being quitely conducted in a professional manner instead of in the press. We wouldn't have known it was still active if a court order hadn't been necessary.

I believe this is a very important ruling since many of the best lobbyists are attorneys and they conceal wrongdoing by asserting lawyer client privilege. In fact one of Clinton's main hit men (I have mercifully forgotten his name) was an attorney who did his dirty work cloaked by the privilege.

Gosh, you mean that it really was not just about SEX?
I have come to the sad conclusion that no criminal charges will ever stick against this man.The best I could hope for would be that there was a divorce and Hillary would get immunity and tell all she knows about everything. But short of that I don't expect Clinton will ever do any serious jail time.He truly is made out of teflon and cowpatties.
To: kattracks
I wonder if Bush will block this investigation with an Exec Order? It's a shame that Clinton could do this much damage and just stroll away.
