The sad fact is, most people do not plan for their own demise.

I find this hard to believe. I'm a 45 yr old single person and I've had life insurance since I graduated college. I don't have kids but should I go I don't want my family (Mother) stuck with bills. Even during times of unemployment (like right now) I don't let my life ins. slip.

I don't think I'm unusual. I could be wrong but I just thought it's normal to at least have life insurance.

Your level of personal responsiblity is commendable....and unfortunately, rare. Congratulations on being an "adult".

I used to work in the life insurance field as a side job in college (not as an agent, mind you), and it is startling how little life insurance people have, mostly because people don't want to think about it until its too late, and then people who do plan ahead, buy the wrong type of insurance and therefore can't afford the correct amount.
