About three months ago we went down to the USED DOGGIE STORE and picked up a previously owned English Pointer. Dolly is 15 months old. Her friend passed away and she ended up in a small foster home (Friends for Life). We had feelers out and our son clued us in about her. She is my wifes walking companion and is adjusting smoothly. They walk between 5 & 6 AM. My wife survived an attempted assault a while back thanks to her training. No she didn't use a hand gun. She emptied her Pepper spray on him. Her wrists are to frail for a gun. Dolly is already making a difference on those walks in the dark . We have not had many dogs in our 45 years together as our pets live long lives. Dolly was free but we have spent about $750. on her so far. She can with a months supply of Kennel Croup and all her medical records which are very helpful of you are adopting.

That's where I got my first Golden. And a good size dog is very comforting to have on a walk. Mine is a perfect gentleman - but I know he would give his life to protect me.
