However, since now for a while, Bush has been leading this country in the right direction, Christian people should have more confidence in Bush. I disagree. The prosecution of the war effort has been a positive, but proposing a budget larger than anything Clinton ever dreamed up and expanding the size and scope of the federal government is not the direction I want to see the country led.

"...proposing a budget larger than anything Clinton ever dreamed up and expanding the size and scope of the federal government is not the direction I want to see the country led." You DO realize that Clinton reduced the budget, and the number of "federal employees", by underfunding the armed forces right?
Did not replace a single piece of ordnance, no pay raises for the troops (many articles about our armed forces needing welfare to support theor families), and no repair/replacement of equipment?

Bump. Of course gutting the military, as pointed out in another reply, is Bush policy too.

Bush cannot change everything overnight. By cutting taxes, there will be less money to spend by the government. This is the first step in the right direction. By favoring private charities (faith-based initiatives) to care for the needy, the government will be less and less involved with social work. Partially privatizing Social Security, is also going in the right direction. With more time, we are going to see more and more measures implemented that will indicate that George W. Bush does what is right, although it is not always easy to choose to do so, in particular with a Democratic Senate and certain lukewarm Republicans.
