Never did it before, but yes it's doing exactly as you describe on my system as well this morning. Mine is doing it as well. Just noticed it yesterday or the day before. Aggravating.
Nevertheless, I won't use IE - which is loaded on my computer - because it loads my computer up with too much crap. If I go to IE for just a minute or so I can get a hundred or so cookies loaded to "Temporary Internet Files".

Mine's doing the same thing...just started a few days ago. I've got a cable modem and Netscape 6.2, but it runs slower than 4.

If I go to IE for just a minute or so I can get a hundred or so cookies loaded to "Temporary Internet Files". Set your cookie preferences in Tools/Internet Options/Privacy. You can turn em off completely if you want, or various levels on up to accepting all.
