True; I imagine everyone in the Taliban had one.
This would se He was present when the uprising occured that took the life of Michael Spann.
Being present doesn't mean much to me. Did he actually participate in Spann's murder? Did he assist anyone that did?
reasonable way he He knew that Americans were engaged in hostilities against the Taliban (where did he think the Daisy Cutters and AC130 gunships were coming from?).
Even if he wanted to, was it feasible for him to escape?
He knew the Taliban had engaged the United States in battle and he continued to remain and fight.
How exactly do you think he could have escaped? And how do you know how much fighting he actually did?
Now I'm sure his defense will be "I couldn't escape because the Taliban would have killed me." Sad thing is, most people will accept this at face value.
He was questioned by Michael Spann 2 hours before Spann's death. He refused to answer any questions. Either he was just waiting for his attorney to show up, or he was fully committed to the Taliban cause.
I put together publications in various locales. I must sell enough ad space to cover printing, postage, graphics, etc, etc.
Now, I always leave myself an escape hatch. I must fill a certain amount of ad space by a certain date or the publication will fail (actually I will fail to cover my costs).
Now I can always continue forward HOPING for the ad space to fill itself miraculously (things like this have happened). Or I can do the smart thing-- return my deposits and get out WHILE I STILL CAN.
Our Taliban-American friend had plenty of time to cut and run. He made a series of wrong decisions up and down the line.
