Does the flood theory include mention of torrential rain for 40 days and 40 nights?
Genesis 7:11 and 12 (NRSV) provides in part, ". . .on that day
all the fountains of the great deep burst forth and the windows of heavens were opened. The rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights."
The story makes provisions for both rain and rising water, not just rain.
