Hey, I've met you before. You're not old enough to be "the father of three."

You devil, you. ;-)

Bump for the profiles! I love reading through them to get to know more about other FReepers.

While everyone is at it, how about sending a pic for the FReeper Photo album? :-)

I couldn't find myself, but I thought I posted some info a few months ago. I am in production for a large advertising agency in NYC. I make silly commercials that aren't supposed to be silly.

I was in advertising, many, many years ago, although not for an agency. Back then, mainly guys got agency jobs. We women got retail positions.

Back then my hero was Mary Wells. She did some wonderful silly commercials, especially those for the VW Thing. :-)

Thanks for your hard work, Alamo-Girl! Excellent job, as always.

By the way, can this list also be sorted alphabetically by Freeper name? That would make it easier to find people.

I go to meetings with 20 people nowadays and 17 of them are women. In 10-15 years when the old men in the top spots are gone, women will run this industry in all facets. The only areas that are still male-dominated are the technical positions in production, but my office is 70% women and we are a large firm.

I was turned down (temporarily) for an advertising director position because I was a woman. Men who did the same work as I in the retail store were paid twice as much. It was almost enough to turn me into a woman's libber, but not quite enough. ;-)

I hope you have a bright and rewarding future in the business. It is cutthroat, to say the least, but I hope that talent and work ethic win out these days.

Thank you so much for the kudos! Thank you for your suggestion!

Maybe one of these days I can get this list into a database so all the searching (and updating) will be easier. In the meantime, a Ctrl-F is the best way to find someone on the list.

Kickin' names and takin' a$$, my FRiend...

Sorry, holidays always get me feelin' a bit stock upright ifyaknowwhatimean. ;)

Here's my fruitcake recipe, y'all... "Proof" POSITIVE I can make something other than mac and cheese out of a BOX!

FRUITCAKE RECIPE

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
1 gallon whiskey

Sample the whiskey to check for quality.
Take a large bowl. Check the whiskey again to be sure that it is of the highest quality.
Pour 1 level cup and drink. Repeat.
Turn on the electric mixer.
Beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add 1 tsp. sugar and beat again.
Turn off the mixer.
Break two eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Mix on the turner.
If the dried fruit gets stuck on the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver.
Sample the whiskey to check for consisticity.

Next, sift 2 cups of salt. Or something. Who cares.
Check the whiskey.
Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.
Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees.
Don't forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out the window.
Check the whiskey again.
Go to bed.
Who likes fruitcake anyway?
