So they make a shortage and then sue over it.CONSPIRACY??
The fact is, I am a conservationist too, but not a whacko extremist. My parents met in the mountaineers and my entire family loves the outdoors. Why on earth did Gayle Norton get brought aboard? It seems she is doing nothing... for either side. I think THIS administration (and all people) need to take care of our environment and the Klamath Basin is a prime example. I am afraid the issue is getting lost in the muddle. Perhaps time to FReep Ms. Norton again. I can't believe there aren't any influential elected representatives stepping up and taking on this fight.

Libertina- Main reason Norton and Interior leadership isn't doing their job in Klamath; is that they are in court, defending Interior and gov fron a lawsuit by Indians over billions of dollars that Indians have been cheated out of by gov in the last 100 years. Many billions in trust funds. Norton is even fighting contempt of court this week.As far as politicians who are doing anything, Senators Smith & Wyden -Ore- are trying to get funds added to farm bill. But the money they want to go to land buyouts, research projects for gov,Indians, Greenies,Etc. Not much to help farms such as getting water rights straightened out.Or paying farms for water lost. There is a surplus, if new groups don't impound it and then sue, claiming not enough for farms.Gov is puttingwater into what they call a wetland above the lake that has 11 square miles and will be 5 ft deep. And this is their small one. This water doesn't get to the lake to be visible so people would know there is a surplus, to help farms....Gov and conservancy has over 100 square miles of these wetlands to put water in.
