David these figures are great. I agree, Pasquarelli/ActupSF, and those people are .....*strange* however, they are gay activists sounding the alarm about the sexually provative ads, calling Ashcroft, etc. These things I agree with, in addition, they are against huge tax dollars for HIV.
In an unrelated issue, I am very concerned with Kidney problems, I've had a cat that died from it, my h.s. best friend died from it, and another friend/co-worker is currently on dialysis sadly. I can think of a lot of other things we could be funding more. Even broken bones!

Dear grlfrnd, I am very sorry to hear about your cat and your friend. I am a great cat lover and would go insane if anything happened to my two.
Research spending should be in proportion to mortalities and other social problems and not based who has the most vocal pressure group. Spending on AIDS is 388 times the level (per mortality) of that on HCV (http://www.askemilyss.com/stats.htm) which kills far more people in America.
Have you got a new kitten? I hope so.
