This story came from the AP yesterday.
Rebels in the region have been fighting for independence of their gas- and oil-rich province since 1975. More than 6,000 people have been killed, including about 1,300 this years alone.
A closing statement like that one tends to leave one with the feeling the constant massacres of both sides are more politically motivated than religious. Also, I find it interesting that AP article makes no mention of the bin Laden connection whereas the World Net Daily article brings it to the fore.
I still maintain that the religious aspect of the massacres in Indonesia is downplayed by the majority of the media outlets. We need to find out why. After all, the media claims it demands every little piece of secure information regarding our attacks on the Taliban because the public has a right to know (GAG ALERT!).
If that's the case, then they need to start feeding the public all the details when Christian lives are at stake.
