[history]
December 8, 2001 -- The national embarrassment known as Mary Frances Berry, chairwoman of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, has outdone herself.
Yesterday, Cleveland labor lawyer Peter Kirsanow was sworn in to replace commission member Victoria Wilson. But Berry refuses to recognize Kirsanow; she won't even let any other commission member refer to him as "commissioner."

Bless you and your family! The economy IS recovering. Networking is basic communication; communication is commerce; and commerce unites everyone in a market and creates prosperity. We Americans do business better and more efficiently than anyone in world history. Your skillset is valuable to this effort, and your resolve will bring great rewards to you and your family. Why not? This is America, dammit!!! Hang in there ... I know a LOT of folks in the high tech bidness and everything is looking up. The recession was in July 00 - August 01, and everyone who's out pounding the sidewalk understands that. The WTC attack just delayed the rebirth for 6 months or so. We're out of the rapids, believe me.
We shouldn't be here in the first place. An incredibly greedy and dishonest dotcom scam was perpetrated on American workers and investors by a elite cadre of pump and dump IPO houses, 401K fund managers and (IMO) disreputable business executives. Most were supporters of Bill Clinton, if I recall. The attack on Microsoft by the Clinton Justice Department was the payoff for all the support the Hambrechts and Adobes and blah blah gave Bubba in his 96 re-election. The destruction of NASDAQ can be EXACTLY traced to the day that Joel Klein and that idiot senile judge ruled against Microsoft. EXACTLY. Look it up. NASDAQ was at or around 4200 at the time. Jim Barksdale and Scott MacNeally can kiss my ass.

LOL!
That's a lovely picture of Oscar Robertson. Or ... is it comedian George Wallace?
I'm going to guess that "primping for my male suitor" has never been part of her THINGS TO DO reminder list.

As George Carlin said so well ... "her face could knock a buzzard off a sh*twagon".

This is about more than keeping current control. She is also poised to fight another battle on when her term expires. She is convinced it expires January 26th, right after the inauguration of the 2004 winner. Bush is convinced it expires in December.
She wants a shot to try and get Bush defeated so that a democrat president will reappoint her. With The proper interpretation of when her term ends, it doesn't matter who wins in 2004, she is out either way.

Good luck on your lab. I'm trying to get ready to do mine in the spring.

Who is in ultimate control of the Civil Rights Commission? If Congress is that body, then they should quietly ask Ms. Berry to resign. That is my question..A failure to be responsive to the President or congress should mean a defunding and dismissal of the current committee ..we have enough "watchers" that do not use tax payers money

Is she related to the crack smoking former mayor of D.C.?
To: kattracks
Hey, look at
THIS. Schizophrenia linked to racism. Now president Bush has a reason to replace Ms Berry.

Of course, then she'll just go get a job somewhere teaching American youth about how racist and terrible the country is. She is already doing that - at the University of Pennsylvania. From their web site:
MARY FRANCES BERRY has been the Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and Professor of History since 1987. She received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Michigan and JD degree from the University of Michigan Law School. She taught the History of American Law, and the History of Law and Social Policy. She also advises students in African American History.
You can reach her, if you'd like, at:
