The headline should be:

"Ashcroft Drives Off Pack of Senate Attack Dogs"

Sub-Head?

"Mongrel Curs Slink Off Beaten and Bloody"

"It appears that Ashcroft has gravitas." Big balls, too.

Yet a frowning Cantwell snapped, "I'm not sure everybody in America is laughing at that."

Especially not her pot-head constituents. Since she lost all her money in the dot-com crash, any government figure who negatively affects wealthy Seattle liberals (from whom she is going to have to beg a lot of money to get reelected in 2006) will certainly not be laughed at.

"Why did this hearing, er, er, er..." "Suck?" the aide said. I nodded.

"Suck"? He nods in agreement? How about that for unbiased reporting. :-)

The Democrats are a bunch of gutless cowards who do not go to the bathroom without conducting a public opinion poll. Standing up for the principles they believe in regardless of how such action plays in public opinion polls is a foreign concept to them.

The Democrats did not go for the jugular because public opinion favors the actions taken by the Bush Administration by a wide margin.

Even though I might disagree with most of their positions, I would respect the Democrats a lot more if they would defend those positions as a matter of principle once in a while regardless of how such a stand would play in public opinion polls.

Ashcroft is fighting folks who might nuke an American City and the Democrats are worried if they have spit balls -- sorry, I mean handguns. Spitballs, handguns, they're the same thing when compared to nukes.

Are the Democrats as brain-dead as they seem? Can they be that stupid?

The wimps finally understand: don't try to 'Bork' or 'Starr' Ashcroft.

The American public will remember who were the Quislings in this our most threatening war.

Congress is trying to be "players" in the war on terrorism by using oversight to stay involved. However, they should have used their Constitutional power to declare war to be partners in this. Instead, they gave the President the power to take any and all means necessary to conduct the war. Now that Bush is doing so, Congress is complaining.

They only have themselves to blame. They can still declare war if they want to. Now, that would make news and put the focus back on them.

The author missed the most important reason why Maria Cantwell asked her question. This is "Maria the gazillionaire who refused to ask for one dime, nay, one penny, from campaign donors, who made her gazillion dollars as an Internet entrepreneur, and who had to go into debt to get elected, spending her gazillions, then had to let hillary hostess a fundraiser for her after she was sworn into office," Cantwell. THAT is why good old jolly (not) Maria asked the Attorney General her Internet question.

I saw the snippet of her snotty reply to Mr. Ashcroft on local Seattle TV. What a brat.

I'm behind GW, Ashcroft and the military.

Me, too. And I certainly am glad they are out there in front of me, taking on the terrorists, the democrats, and other dangers yet unknown.

#47- How right you are, PJ!

President Bush, Mr. Rumsfield and the military are running the show and are the stars. The Demorat senators who consider themselves celebrities can't bear to be out of the spotlight. It eats away at them like a cancer. They feel useless, ignored, inconsequential, despised and out-of-the-loop.

And they ARE all of the above.
