Well, if they get the weather wrong, you can hardly expect them to keep up with the news...

The "CAPS LOCK" key is on the left, under the "TAB" key. Note that it can be used to turn all-caps OFF as well as ON.

There is no winter weather raging in Afghanistan.

High of 30 degrees in cities is winter weather to me.

In mountains not covered by the weather channel it is probably even colder.

Your criticism on this point is trivial.

NOW GET READY FOR ALL THE ANTI-DEBKA EXPERTS. RUMMY CONFIRMS CHINESE HAD TROOPS SUPPORTING THE TALIBAN AS DEBKA CITED. I THINK THEIR ARTICLES HAVE PROVEN TO BE REASONABLY ACCURATE. ON ISRAEL THEY ARE ON TARGET. PAKISTANI PLANES DID FLY IN AND PULL THEIR MEN FROM KONDUZ AS DEBKA CITED. IT IS AN EMBARRASSEMENT TO THE USA WHICH WE COVER UP BUT MANY OTHERS HAVE CONFIRMED. MAYBE THEY UPGRADED THEIR COMMODORES TO A GATEWAY 1000 MGZ. WISH OUR CIA HAD AS GOOD A RECORD. MAYBE THE CIA AND FBI WHO FAILED US MISERABLY BEFORE 9/11 SHOULD UPGRADE THEIR 286 COMPUTORS. BE FAIR FOLKS. INTELLIGENCE IS DATA AND LEAKS RECEIVED, SOME GOOD AND SOME BAD. DON'T EXPECT 100% ACCURACY. 50% IS GOOD AND 10% IN THE RIGHT AREA, WHICH PREVENTS DISASTER IS ALSO GOOD. I WONDER WHERE ALL THESE DETRACTERS AND SELF PROCLAIMED INTELLIGENCE EXPERTS GOT THEIR INTELLIGENCE TRAINING? AND HOW MANY OF THE BLOOD-THIRSTY COUCH-BOUND WARRIORS WE SEE ON FREE REPUBLIC, EVER SERVED A LICK IN THE ARMED FORCES. IF YOU CITE YOUR OPINIONS MAYBE YOU OUGHT TO CITE YOUR BACKGROUND AND WHAT MAKES YOU AN EXPERT. I AND MY GENERATION SERVED IN WW2. WE HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND SCARS TO GIVE US SOME LEGITIMACY. 30% OF MY COLLEGE CLASSMATES DIED IN WW2. WE SURE HAVE A LOT OF ARMCHAIR QUARTERBACKS AMONG FREEPERS. GENERALLY I FIND MOST OF THE COMMENTS QUITE REFRESHING AND INTELLIGENT. THEN THERE ARE THE OTHERS. IT MUST BE WONDERFUL TO BE SO SMART AND RIGHT ON EVERYTHING.

THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH TYPING IN CAPS WITH NO PUNCTUATION IS THAT PEOPLE WILL NOT READ YOU CLOSELY OR AT ALL SINCE IT IS HARD ON THE EYES AND BECAUSE OF NET MANNERS THE READER USUALLY ASSUMES THE POSTER IS SHOUTING THIS CAN BE VERY ANNOYING AND DETRACTS FROM THE SUBSTANCE OF YOUR MESSAGE HOPEFULLY YOU WILL LEARN FROM THIS POST BACK TO YOU AND YOUR NEXT MESSAGE CAN BE SOMETHING I WILL BOTHER TO READ

Check the satellite. No precip. No snow. Simply cold weather is not an impediment for military operations. But it's not even cold. The forecast high for Jalalabad is in the sixties. In the west, where the winter weather is supposedly raging, the forecast high temps are 55-65 degrees. Golf weather, except the Afghanis don't play golf.

You Debka-supporters will go to great lengths to downplay Debka's mistakes - but now they've been caught lying. If you think that is trivial, it speaks volumes...

I think they mean reinforced carbon-carbon, the stuff used on the Space Shuttle's heat-resistant tiles.

No, they mean carbon carbon. Like, when you are trying to emphasize a point, you will go "She is VERY VERY intelligent".

Well, they are saying this is especially carbon-y carbon.

"Well, if they get the weather wrong,..."

Yeah, silly me. Expecting accuracy from the print media. What was I thinking?

that journalists were not allowed near Tora Bora (Geraldo is already there)

In all fairness, there is another way to interpret this statement. ;-)

Not bad detective work for a guy with no intelligence training, eh? It's amazing what you can do with a quick check of the Weather Channel and CNN - Debka claimed that George Tenet was on a ultra-super-duper secret mission to Kabul on September 2nd when he was actually accompanying Spann's body home from Germany that day...

Check out that site for a rude awakening from a weapons expert and a physics genius and see how our scientists in their arrogance have fallen behind the Reds in using 75 year old Tesla discoveries.

Then why do we worry that Xlinton gave away our nuclear weapons secrets?

True enough. And I can see why they wouldn't give him a protective suit, either. But we still have the lies about the weather and George Tenet's trip to Kabul...

Yeah, but they meant the OTHER George Tenet. The super secret one. And the Afghanistan they are referring to is the OTHER Afghanistan. The one near the top of Canada.

It's not EMPHASIS when EVERY letter is in caps. It's YELLING!

The lowest of the highs (what a funny sentence) is in Kabul and that's 41. Cold, but no precipitation. When we lived in Chicago I couldn't get rides to school if it was snowing, didn't matter how cold, you like in Chicago you learn to tough it out. We don't see anything on either the forcast or radar map that even remotely compares to the weather we faced during the Battle of the Bulge, and we've got much better cold weather gear now than we had back then.

I dont buy Chinese complicity one bit.If someone could show me ONE item that DEBKA got right,I might even take time to read the whole article.Once I saw the inference that Osama had an IRV courtesy of the clintons, excuse me,the chicoms,I knew my response would be one of skepticism.

Simply cold weather is not an impediment for military operations.

Tell that to the Space Shuttle challanger.

I am not a Debka supporter, I've never posted one of their articles. I seldom go to their site to look. I do not believe everything they write.

I dislike the antiDebka hysterics.

I swear, you guys bump up debka stories more than anyone else.

Your debka obsession is strange.

Debka is better than many many sites that post here but there is no similar mass outbreak of hysterical ranting like there is for a debka post.

I can't believe that we would allow ANY of our top people to go into Afghanistan. If the trip happened, I don't believe it would be necessary to send Tenet.
