It is not like he is going to lose the black vote over it.

Letter mentioned...concerning FloriDUH blacks and their lousy voting skills... This isn't about black vs. white - this is about a racist who is black. Keep in mind there are black freepers. This is not neccessarily to you, but to those who would get this thread yanked.

Mary Frances Berry is (was?) also the chairman of the ultra left wing, wacko Pacifica Radio stations.

If Mary Frances Berry talked back to a boss like that in the private sector and challenged the boss's right to put a new hire to work she'd be fired on the spot and be spun out of the door so fast she won't even know she was gone. She's openly defying her legitimate superior the President of the United States and she's been read the riot act. And if she insists on picking a fight its time President Bush shove her out the door and send her packing. Her time has come and gone.

What the hay I just sent an email to Brit Hume asking for a copy of that letter.....All he can say is no...:-)

Why is it always about entitlements with these liberals?

They should just disband the whole damned Civil Rights Commission I am in total agreement. It serves no useful function, being advisory to the President only.
Duties
The Commission's duties are:
To investigate complaints alleging that citizens are being deprived of their right to vote by reason of their race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin, or by reason of fraudulent practices.
To study and collect information relating to discrimination or a denial of equal protection of the laws under the Constitution because of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin, or in the administration of justice.
To appraise Federal laws and policies with respect to discrimination or denial of equal protection of the laws because of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin, or in the administration of justice.
To serve as a national clearinghouse for information in respect to discrimination or denial of equal protection of the laws because of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin.
To submit reports, findings, and recommendations to the President and Congress.
To issue public service announcements to discourage discrimination or denial of equal protection of the laws.
Powers
In furtherance of its fact-finding duties, the Commission may hold hearings and issue subpoenas (within the State in which the hearing is being held and within a 100-mile radius of the site) for the production of documents and the attendance of witnesses at such hearings. It maintains State advisory committees, and consults with representatives of Federal, State, and local governments, and private organizations. Since it lacks enforcement powers that would enable it to apply specific remedies in individual cases, it refers the many complaints it receives to the appropriate Federal, State, or local government agency or private organization for action.

The antics of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission could temp even the most tolerant, urbane, kind, understanding, wise and pluralistic multiculturalist, to become a virulent racist. I know, I have been tempted. :)
Just kidding!

This would be an excellent time to get a comment from CBS news.

Who let the dogs out......whoof whoof whoof whoof whoof? LOL!! I was waiting for the trolley in Pittsburgh when it pulled up and a bunch of feminists departed, with the tee shirts with the female symbol, and boasting a gut that made me feel a lot better about mine.
They were chanting "Who let the women out!"
The original version was much more in order.

LOL! I was just going to post the same thing! Like what...98% might vote dem next go-around? Oh..wait...that already happened! Ha!
I am in favor of dissolving the whole thing and creating a new commission with all new members. Past members cannot be appointed.

Brit Hume reports that Mary Frances Berry, chairman of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, is refusing to acknowledge the Bush White House's latest appointment to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. Sounds like someone is about to get fired. Pardon me while I bet my life savings that Bush keeps HIS job.
To: Howlin
Civil rights? What about Bush's civil rights to have the power his position gives him? It is within his power to appoint a new member.
She just makes herself look like an idiot - guess she is one. Does she expect Bush to back down because she doesn't want him to select someone? She sounds like a spoiled brat to me.
