If they are complicit, isn't it plausible that instead of trying to (or at least not primarily to) erode liberties, it was an act of a government who needed the support of a significantly liberal constituency to attack it's enemies?

You're the one who is "Rdidiculous", nutbar. There were dozens of people making calls. Hundreds of others saw their families get on the planes. Workers at the airports loaded baggage and checked people onto the planes. Pilots were contacting the control towers. And dead bodies were removed from the wreckage of the flights and identified. In other words, anyone with a lick of common sense would dismiss your robotics theory as pure whackjob. So what does that say about YOU?

Since this was written, we have learned that at least four repected foreign intelligence services told the CIA that the attack was coming, that it involved the highjacking of airliners, that Al Qaida was behind it, and that the operation was run by two bin Laden associates, Amad Mugniyeh and Ayman Al-Hawaziri.

Care to back that up with a CREDIBLE source?

Janes Intelligence Weekly of the week following the 9-11 attack reported the visit of Mossad personnel to the CIA four weeks before the attack telling them it was coming, and that the French intelligence service had provided similar information. That the Germans and the Russians had also provided the information was recorded in other sources that at this date I can no longer remember. I don't lie, but I'm also too busy to keep notes on this material.

The first sentence is essentially true. The second sentence is not. There could be no decision at the time to shoot down hijacked aircraft since it was the first attack of its type.

Just because I post an article does not mean that I agree with every word or sentence in it. However, the jist of the article is very disturbing because the CIA knew very well that an attack involving highjacked airliners was coming and did nothing about it. Either they are totally incompetent or they let it happen.

I would like to hear from any source who can tell me anything done by the CIA or FBI in the weeks preceding the attack to fend off that attack.
