No one has been able to explain to me at what point the embyro becomes life. Exactly at the moment of conception? At one cell before it subdivides? If so, (and many purists believe so) then, what happens to all those unfertilized eggs and sperm that are discarded by us all? Is a woman therefore guilty of manslaughter because the egg she was carrying last month was not fertilized? Why not, after all, it contains half the genetic code for life.

I cannot tell when life begins, but I have known some people who needed the procedure on medical grounds- in their cases the procedure was done within 2 weeks of becoming pregnant. (Any later and the health of the woman would have deteriorated further) -- And for those women, I am glad they were able to receive expert and legal attention.

Women in that situation are an infinitesimally small fraction of the total number of abortions committed in this country. Using them as a justification for the wanton slaughter of millions of innocents is absurd, but it's exactly the kind of "logic" that the pro-abort forces want to see promulgated.
