A few month ago I wrote about a discussion my wife had with a representative of Orvis concerning backlash against their support of Senator Jeffords. I expect that a few here joined in letting Orvis know their opinion of the company's support of the Senator. Well now Orvis is being raked over the coals by anti-gun nuts because of a catalogue cover showing a small boy with a toy gun. I think it is only fair that we email the company and express our support for them against the anti gun zealots. If we truly are a forum of individuals who believe in free speech and the protecting of our constitutional rights, then it is encumbent upon us to chastise people when necessary(ie. the Jeffords thing), but be willing to support the same people when they are right on other issues. An email to their corporate headquarters(http://www.orvis.com) with a little note of support would probably be greatly appreciated, and would also show that the good people have a voice and it is louder than the bad ones.
