I don't think it's just the feminists. To go back to the women of the 40's and 50's where they stay home and don't have careers, you'd have to put ideas like alimony back into place. As it is today, a woman with no career who finds herself over 40 and kids, isn't going to have alimony. I've seen that with my sister-in-law when her husband left her for another woman, she had been the perfect homemaker, mother and wife but found herself facing minimum wage jobs with no benefits and one child qualifying for child support but yet an older 18 year old too who still need to eat, she was unable to make house payments on 6.00 an hour.
