Arafat will never achieve a peace agreement with Israel because he's totally commited to an "all or none" position. The next player no matter who will not be carrying the same sort of baggage.

I think that's simply wishful thinking on your part. Remove Arafat and someone even more extreme and determined shall take his place.

I agree. The only exception would be if Israel or the U.S. steps in like it did in Vietnam and supports (through many means) someone who is more closely aligned with order and decency.

That really worked in Vietnam.
