B-52's don't carry Hellfire missiles. The AGM-114 "Hellfire" missile is carried by the Army's Apache and the Marine Corps Super Cobra attack helicopters. Neither of which is likely to be mistaken for a B-52.
Something's fishy...

Ref #3: I have not been in the military since 1968. Back then, the B52's flew so high you couldn't even see the damn things! Do they do low altitude fly-bys now? VERY FISHY or a very stupid reporter!

Teh remains of a hellfire lodged in a straw roof?! I picked up the smoldering remains on many tests and I never saw anything within striking range that wasn't torched. They don't call it hellfire for nothing!
One ugly missile and it ain't on a Buff. I have never seen one on a Pave Low . . . Do they have Apaches or Cobras in theater? This report does not make sense. Either someone is lying, or someone else is lying.

For one thing, Commander Zaman would have a good deal to say about where the strikes are directed, so that there is the real possibility that he and his had some role in the errors, if there were any. He would have not only requested but begged for the air support; he needs to master the direction of it.

It was the tail-end of a compact bomb. It bore the words "Surface Attack Guided Missile AGM 114",....Sounds too much like plain English to have been military markings. More like the index entry from "Janes".
