No doubt there's plenty of racists and bigots here on FR as in the world at large.

However, young black culture is a topic for discussion because it so overwhelmingly flies in the face of traditional (ie, one man, one woman marriage...children raised by both parents) values. Same as the young homosexual male lifestyle, and others no doubt.

The egocentric young black rap music typically comes off as angry, heavily sexual, anti-traditional, money-as-king commentary. It is promoted on mainstream music networks and radio stations and children (my children) listen to it. I don't see it as a positive and I turn off what is blatantly over the edge. Nothing racist in these comments, just factual.

I'm not a fan myself. But when people say this, I just shake my head.

People used to say the same thing about jazz and the blues 50 years ago, and now you'll pay $75 to sit in a concert hall and listen to the same music.
