I am aware that right or wrong is based on your own set of morals and beliefs but it's so hard to keep from judging others.Heaven forbid that there should be such things as immutable moral laws. We certainly wouldn't want to cramp anyone's "do your own thang" style or cause them to suffer from lower self-esteem.
Abominable practices such as abortion cannot exist where moral relativism is not enthroned.
Heck--cannibalism, incest, genuine racism, bestiality, pedophilia, Clintonspeak--indeed all the foul blessings of godless humanism would have a hard time taking root in a place where the population subscribed to immutable moral beliefs.

Yes heaven forbid indeed. It makes sense to me to take things on a case by case basis because this land was founded on freedom of religion and many religions conflict in what is right and wrong. There are overall beliefs that seem to bind them together. Why did you list racism? This is one of the many things that we have now come to see as wrong that was justified through people's belief in God and his word.
