"Honor the Sabbath" you say--in the temples of the local shopping mall. "Don't steal"--theft is so widespread you can no longer get the cops to even take a report. "Thou shalt not commit adultery"--why not, everyone does it--extra marital affairs may now be the norm. "Thou shalt not bear false witness"--another "everybody does it"--read the justifications for the conduct of our former president.
"No coveting that which is thy neighbor's?" Our national system of taxation is specifically founded on the principal of coveting. "Thou shalt not kill"--murder is widespread and is perfectly legal if the killer is the mother of the unborn child. "A man shall not lie with a man as with a women for it is an abomination to the Lord." It is now not politcally correct to suggest that there is something wrongful about this conduct.
We have enjoyed the blessing of God's protection as a nation because we governed our life with His soverignty and an effort to do what He tells us to do. We have now lost that blessing because we have turned our face from Him. When Israel did this, he destroyed their country--the United States can expect no less.
The underlying message is the same as the Left's:
"America is evil and Americans deserves to die for our sins against:
God,
Gaia,
the A-rabs,
the Jews,
the proletariat,
Jesus,
the Rainforest,
the Palestinians,
the Old-Growth Forests,
the Bible,
Allah,
and the Homeless."
America is great and good and Americans deserve to live.
We cannot even pretend to know God's mind of current events without a genuine revelation from God. Therefore, you are only projecting your own sick wishes to kill your fellow country men onto God.
If that's not a sin, I don't know what is.
This is now starting to cross the line into sedition and hate for America and Americans. This is the kind of crap I would expect from the 'Christian Identity' movement, not otherwise decent Christians. It's sick.
Are you actually advocating the destruction of America because it is not good enough for you?
I see a lot of good people in America. The best people in the world.
This is starting to cross the line into advocating the destruction of America.
This isn't right.
Have you ever read the Bible? It is the genuine revelation from God. Of course we cannot pretend to know God's mind completely. That's impossible. But everything we do know is found in His word and in the person of Jesus Christ. It is clear in Scripture that God judges individuals, groups of people, and, yes, even nations. Did you even read the last sentence of the article? "Every nation is sinful."
So why assign to God your own wishes to see Americans killed?
Oh, so that's what I want, is it? If that were true, why would so many of us be praying for Americans to repent and turn away from sin in order to avoid God's judgment? Please don't pretend to know my mind.
The author was right:
Some try to get away from the comforting truth that God is completely in control by accusing those who hold to this truth of being bitter, critical, sectarian, and harsh.
If we "Talibornagains" really wanted to see America destroyed we would be completely silent on the issue. Your argument falls flat and lacks any semblance of logic or reason.
Blaming American and cheerleading for its destruction at the hands of divinely inspired Arabs is a pretty sick way to 'help America'
Notice that Todd Beamer on flight 93 was a Christian. When the plane got hijacked, he didn't jump up and tell them all "See! You brought this on yourselves with your sin! Let's all repent!"
No, he prayed on the 23rd Psalm and God gave him the strength to fight those who would take his countrymen's lives. He inspired others to help him kick ass.
He was a hero and a Christian and he loved America and his fellow Americans on that plane sinners and saved alike.
Let me see if I understand what your saying. Our only free choice is to choose God or not and all other actions are by divine design?
I appreciate your patriotism yet I wonder do you believe that America is somehow God's chosen people?
Well, I guess we don't have an Ark of the Covenant....
We certainly are extraordinarily blessed in our lives and freedoms..
Lives and freedoms that are worthy of being defended.
I agree completely. In fact, God instituted governments to enforce justice against those that would harm others. Our actions against these terrorists is completely just and necessary.
Our nation was founded upon Christian principles and it is those principles that we defend. However, this nation has regressed away from these principles as witnessed by the covetousness of our government. Do you think it is appropriate to consider the errors our government has made in the last 70 years?
Why must it be considered in the context of the recent attacks on America?
That is the same argument as the Left-wing America haters and the Taliban--that this attack was in retribution for errors, sins, policy, whatever...
So what's the solution? Kill all abortion doctors and homosexuals? If, as this article claims, we sin as a nation, that means we must repent as a nation...where does that leave non-believers--Inquisition, burning at the stake?
