Well, he's 20 now, and that's older than the usual US army recruits. I hate it when the press talks about him like he's a kid. But that makes his lawyer happy.

I remember being 17 years old in the US Army and reading a newspaper story that referred to teenage killers being mass produced by the US Army for deployment to RVN. The press remains unchanged for the last thirty years.

Did you happen to see the Major in Spec. Forces interviewed on Fox this afternoon who, when asked what he would do with this "misguided, impressionable" kid, replied; (paraphrase) "I'd check with some American parents who have their kids of the same age fighting for the U.S. in Afgahanastan - I'd ask them if they think this guy neegs to get special consideration as a "kid" after he picked up a gun against his countrymen."

Ballpark that was it - you had to see it to get the force and honesty with which he spoke - best military comentator I have seen on any channel yet!
