KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (CNN) -- U.S.-led airstrikes targeted the Kandahar city airport Tuesday as the night and day assault on the last major Taliban stronghold in the country continued, CNN sources said.
Facing little threat from the ground, warplanes could be seen flying very low over the city. Sources in Kandahar told CNN that residents of the city were on edge, fearful of an attack. North of the city, two villages fell to anti-Taliban forces. Sporadic gunfire and artillery outbursts could be heard.

Hazrat Ali said bin Laden told Afghan tribal elders that he was ready to fight "foreigners," but did not want to engage in combat with Afghan mujahedeen fighters, at whose side he fought in the war against the Soviet Union in the 1980s. Amazing how this crimps the style of his jihad. His Muslim credibility is about to go down the toilet.

Bump. And can anybody give me a title or a link to an article that has very specific information about the provisions of the "Patriot Act."

Ummmm, Isn't ObL a "foreigner" in Afghanistan?....

Are you suggesting he fight himself?...chuckle

Who me? Could be...

If we have a choice, I say, let the NA kill him. I don't think we want to get our egos wrapped up in killing bin Laden. We will be fighting this war for some while to come. The thing is to go in there, get the job done, then move on to the next target. Bush is being real cool about it, and I give him great credit for that.

We don't want him dead. We want him to escape to Indonesia, so we can clean that viper's nest out. Then the Phillipines, then Somalia...
We'll save the Arab states for last to preseve the coalition as long as possible (while they lose their "moral" authority by not protecting non-Arab Muslims...)

Soon, we may have to start recruiting our own bin Laden lookalikes, so we can keep bombing these hell holes until the job's done.

A better question is where does Bin Laden hide? If you don't consider this coward of all cowards a coward, then you probably wouldn't entertain that he is begging. But he is. Because if they go after him, there is no way out. And if he wasn't such a coward, he wouldn't have allowed an entire country to be ravaged while he hid under a rock like the snake that he is.

Doesn't the koran stipulate that a moslem will only go to paradise if killed while fighting against non-moslems?

He'll be the "flying Dutchman" of the Muslim world. Wherever he shows up, disaster follows.
We can always have reliable reports from secret sources, which the lying local governments will naturally deny.
Sorta hard to be a popular martyr under those circumstances...

Yes, it does. This would be nothing less than poetic justice. The Lord WORKS in mysterious ways.

He isn't a leader. He's a jetset moneyman. Al Zawahiri is the brains behind this operation, and HE has disappeared, leaving the craven coward shiitting in his sandals. Time the US started mentioning Al Zawahiri MORE and MORE. Because we will need a target that is still alive.
