Any other time I would agree, but my child did a history report on Washington in 1st grade. The called me and tried to give her an F because she report Washington not to be the first.
She is not in 4th grade, her teacher called me Friday to let me know that my child was talking back. My child told the teacher that Washington was not the first President of the US but the first elected President, that there was several people appointed before him. When the teacher told her to be quite, and that she was wrong, my child told her teacher to google it. The teacher was suppose to call me again on Monday to speak about the disrespect she was showing. Today is Monday and the teacher never called.
I am proud of my daughter.

I'm proud of your daughter for knowing about the presidents before Washington.
The presidents before George Washington were technically presidents of Congress under the Articles of Confederation, and not Presidents of the United States. My wife is a descendant of Thomas McKean, the second president of Congress under the AoC, and perhaps the most corrupt politician in U.S. history (ignore the whitewash).
When Andrew Jackson was in office, the newspapers accused him of being the most corrupt politician "since Thomas McKean."
