This was a quote from this article:
"If you think that so-called ``stickiness'' for a Web site is impressive, check out the Latest Articles page at conservative/libertarian discussion site FreeRepublic.com. Visitors, who call themselves Freepers, log an average of 2 hours and 32 minutes."
To those Freepers who log on for an average of 2 hours and 32 minutes. There is no Free Lunch of FreepLoading if Free Republic stays sticky and viable.
If you don't donate to Free Republic please go the link below to keep Free Republic sticky for your visits! Or it may be time for your annual or quarterly donation. The really sticky Freepers donate on a monthly basis!

Mayne won't get rich off total projected revenues of about $66,000 this year for the Web site, including advertising. But the take more than covers the $10,586 [in U.S. dollars] it costs to publish and post content each year. well blow me down.... you can make money muckraking online

Me too. Must be a whole lot of us FReepers sticking around for some mighty long periods of time to maintain an average like this. This is incredible stickiness.

Why go elsewhere on the net when you are at THE BEST.
Bravo Jim!

Of course I've read Jim's 'About' page! I've now read all three of your posts, without benefit of tin foil.
Many of us, no make that "enough of us" will keep FR up and running and FR shall remain thee 'place' to be. We'll meet our challenges, attain our aspirations and we'll have fun doing it!

They have three rules: Find a niche, target the disenfranchised, and keep costs low. There's probably some truth to this but the real reason WorldNetDaily.com is doing so well is because they hired David Limbaugh as a columnist, and Rush Limbaugh frequently makes reference on his show to his brother's columns by mentioning WorldNetDaily.
Drudge is the same way. He wasn't even getting 20,000 hits a day, until Rush started quoting the Drudge Report on his show.
There's really only one rule for internet success: get free publicity. In Drudge's case, it was more or less a gift (though one Drudge had earned), while in WND's case Farrah figured out what he wanted and how to get it. David Limbaugh is a good writer, however, so I can't complain. It's just, that's how it worked out.
