When something claims to be independent with their motto being "We Inform, You Decide", it sure seems like they are letting us decide what we think for ourselves.
First there is a poll asking if the Elder President Bush is asking too much money to speak at the University of Florida. $80,000. Then in the Darts & Laurels article, they manage to bash Lynne Cheney & the Bush family again. Topped off by the cartoon on the top.
Great to see our media informing us and letting us decide.

You would not expect anything different from a school whose motto is: "Would you like fries with that?"

Bill Clinton's reported speaking fee runs between $100,000 - $150,000.

You're confusing UF with FSU.
To: Andrew Wiggin
Exactly. I graduated from UF. They are actually accredited.

Hey, wait a sec.
First, the Independent Alligator is not affiliated with UF.
Second, you are thinking of FSU.
And, third, the line is, "Medium, Hot, or Fire sauce with your tacos?"

"Independant" is the new buzzword amongst liberal media. It gives them hope the reader will think they are objective. When what it really means is they have no accountability and are slanted so far to the left their left ear drags on the ground.
To: mattdono
First, the Independent Alligator is not affiliated with UF. So where are they located, Gainesville or Tallahassee?

Don't let the gators spread misinformation - the Alligator is in GAINESVILLE. Spurrier uses it to wipe his tears.
To: redlipstick
Yes, the Alligator is in Gainesville, although not affiliated with UF. UF does not have a student run newspaper.

The Alligator (Agitator) is poorly written, left-wing drivel put together by hippie wannabes who failed school because they were too busy protesting the latest cause. The only thing I remember it good for was the $1 a slice Leonardo's coupon. I looked for that and would throw away the rest. It is in Gainesville, but is not affiliated with the University of Florida. FSU is Florida State University, the "former" all girls school located in Tallahassee.

FSU is Florida State University, the "former" all girls school located in Tallahassee.Former? Did the girls go to UF and the men stay at FSU?

The word "Independent" simply means it isn't funded or authorized by the university. It was originally a humor mag like the harvard Lampoon.

Why
"former"? Wasn't there a cheer... "FSU, FSU, where the girls are girls and the guys are too"?
Just kidding...some of my best friends are FSU alum. But, it is fun keeping the intrastate rivalry going.
To: Armando Guerra
it is fun keeping the intrastate rivalry going It seems that the rivalry may be going down hill after the last game that the two schools had.

I think this is one of the publications that was trying to get it's hands on Dale Earnhardt's autopsy photos.
Nothing they do would surprise me.

If you define 'whiney' as sticking up for your players when they are purposely injured as opposed to 'manfully' remaining silent, then he resides in Gainesville.
I agree that the rivalry may be nearing an end. After so many years of playing against criminals, thugs, and late hit artists, this latest travesty may have been the last straw. Besides, they're starting to bring our strength of schedule down.
To: Andrew Wiggin
Besides, they're starting to bring our strength of schedule down. Would that be the SEC strength or UF strength of schedule?
