I don't think people do good things in order to get into heaven. You can't work your way in. Some faiths seem to believe that if you're good enough, you can make it. That's not what Christ says: I am the way, the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to father but through me. When one receives Christ, then works are commanded, not before. Prayer changes people and people go on to change things.
