It was bad when I worked there in '89. Half our clients did not speak english....when they wanted to, that is. Workers comp claims always jumped at the end of each season (i.e. strawberry, celery, watermelon, ect...) We could time it to the tee. And we had to keep our car doors locked and secured at all times during a typical work day. Lovely.
I wished I knew the answer, other than being vigilant in our own neighborhoods. Take them back. Maybe as communities, we can get them back too.
