God bless the brave men and women of Flight 93.

By their brave actions the Flight 93 passengers made that kind of takeover highly unlikely in the future.
However, over on DU, many still believe that the US government brought the plane down for nefarious conspiratorial reasons. Lots of foil hat conspiracies abound.

Not only do we need to raise a beautiful monument to these heroes at the crash site, I also propose that the site be taken over by the National Park Service and designated a national BATTLEFIELD. It, too, is hallowed ground.

When given information, "free men" will rise up to defend freedom. No draft needed.

Move over Alamo - you have company.
God Bless them.

I have to apologize.
When I first heard that the terrorists took over the planes armed only with knives and razor blades I said something like (and posted on FreeRep) where are all the men in this country? Can you imagine a group of WWII vets being herded around and slaughtered? I was pretty hard on the passengers, and my fellow Americans in general.
Im sorry for that. Maybe we (Americans) get sidetracked occasionally, but Im damn proud, and humbled, to live in the presence of these fine citizens and grateful for the example they, and so many more like them, set on a daily basis.

What an amazing story, and beautifully told.
How is it possible that this is in Newsweak? I think I'm actually going to have to buy this one. Knock me over with a feather.

A chilling, beautiful story of REAL HEROES. You can't get through it dry-eyed.
