It will take some time for changes to be made. But people will have lots of that on their hands to reconsider as the layoffs and budget deficits keep increasing and the endless wars never stop.
Your whistling in the dark about the endless well of American support ignores a steady distancing of the American electorate from the US underwriting other countries territorial squabbles. Just give it a few years.
