Goddard also says he doesn't watch SciFi. But I do, and I'm curious as to how good the new Lost in Space will be?

I sure hope it's better than the movie.

That one was a real waste of celluloid.

Dud yoy ever read the early '90s comic series from Innovation? Bill Mumy was heavily involved in the project. They were fantastic. They picked up the TV show in a fourth season, got serious (Smith as he was in the first six episodes)did great background stories on all the characters. If you ever see them, buy them. I have the complete set. Well worth your time and money.

I liked the humor of the TV show, and though the movie was very serious, it had its merits. Now that I look back, it was odd that Dr. Smith was alone with the boy so much, however the Robot was usually there to supervise. :)

I heard the show and it was a hoot. Howie does a good job on interviews. He's so pedestrian.

He also had on Debra Lee ? who was on Mary Hartman... Mary Hartman. She lost her husband at the WTC.

He's had on Bob Denver, Gail Storm and Ed Asner. Carr loves to drag the old has-beens out!

You're right. They were well done. I never got all of them, but the first few were quite good. I especially like that they went back to the beginning and picked up the thread about the aliens who were colluding with Dr. Smith.

I was at a con and met Mr. Goddard. He's a thoroughly charming man, who for a cheerful hour regaled old fans of the show and happily answered questions. He's presently a special-education teacher, of all things. But I bet he's quite good at it.

I always thought Dr. Smith was hilarious. I loved his little sayings, like "Move along, you bubble-headed booby

"a new updated Lost in Space show "

To make it more realistic, they can hire Dan Goldin as technical adviser.

OK, I'm going to start off by admitting I have no taste, but - I LIKED IT.

Then both of us have lost our sense of taste. I liked it, too. You must have been that other person in the movie theatre where I saw it.

Check out this cool Brady-esque Lost in Space Image...

ps. Raise your hand if you knew that vikingchick secretly pines for Billy Mumy!

I bought the videotapes to the first six episodes and viewed them with my then four-year-old nephew. As we watched the chariot travel through the canyon, he turns to me and asks, "Is this real?"

I know the longtime fans of the show love the humor and focus on the Will Robinson/Robot/Dr. Smith triangle, but those early black and white episodes had an effect that was both epic and documentary.

In one of the early episodes, the Robinsons survive a grueling journey in the chariot, so they stop in the middle of a clearing in the jungle, take out a Bible, kneel and pray.

I'd like to see a show continue in that serious direction, instead of taking us into the realm of Carrot Man, the Intergalactic Department Store, and "Oh, the Pain! The Pain!" Been there, done that. How about a show for adults, about what it would really be like out there?

I watched the reruns of that show in the hope they would throw Dr. Smith out of the airlock.
Come to think of it, that's why I watched Star Trek-Voyager I thought they might throw Janeway out.
(besides Jeri Ryan being in it)
