terilyn: So I took a gander over at LP. Funny, there are about 20 people that spend all day agreeing with each other.

Anti-freepers are people with no life but to wake in the morning check FR, cut and paste a post or two run back to LP and post it.

I'm guessing you haven't spent much time over there. The antifreepers are kept locked away in their own little cage, where they can snipe to their heart's content without disrupting the news forum. And contrary to terilyn's assertion, there is real debate over there.

I agree with Bob J and BADJOE. There is ample room for a Liberty Post or a Lucianne.com. The more the merrier!

****There is ample room for a Liberty Post or a Lucianne.com. The more the merrier!****

UNLESS.......some decide to become disruptors. Or post threads like "Pray For My Bush" for the sole purpose of derision where anti-FR seems to be the only topic.

I traveled ALL over LP today (first time there)...I saw MANY on different threads that felt the need to post anti-freeper posts. And many that had to brag about how they had been to FR and posted XXXX.......or XXXX. I even saw entire posts from FR copied and posted on LP...for the purpose of ridicule. When was the last time you saw an LP thread posted on FR in it's entirety?

This is counter-productive to ALL isn't it? Isn't that a bit like turf wars.......or neighborhood gang wars?

Your statement is correct ONLY if respected by all parties. But as soon as some decide to 'visit'---OR---'register' for the sole purpose of disruption, then you are right back in a 'who's sandbox is better', childish, disruptive situation, no? And.......who benefits?

IMO.....ALL lose.

Hey, I'm not disagreeing that there's room for as many conservative sites as can make a go of it.

I clicked on three threads over there, in addition to one on the FR side.

All three started out with a comment or two about the article, (always negative), and then the threads degenerated into a, "I bet the people at TOS are swooning over this", "Yeah, them Bush butt kissers..."

A couple of other people will come in with an actual comment about the article and then more "TOS"/Bush bashing, and that's not on the FR forum.

Hey, if that's what they want, they can knock themselves out all day as far as I'm concerned. It just seems like a strange form of debate.

That said, I admit, my experience over there is limited. I'm not a Bush basher, therefore, I would be merely a disruptor. I'd rather not be, thank you very much.

I have found that you can also snipe at them to your heart's content. It was fun. I hadn't been to a good flame war in a long time... helps to keep the claws sharpened :)

Gotta shower afterwards, though.

There's an old Star Trek episode about some planet where everybody is civil and polite and nice all the time. Turns out they're all wired into some central Admin Moderator that keeps them that way. Except that one day a year, everybody goes berserk and lets it all vent at once. That's what that place is like. Except I think they're like that all the time. Some of 'em have been doing it for years. Maybe they're wired into the Anti-Moderator, and one day a year they're nice. We'll see.
