This really happened? So he's not a liar, but an idiot?

This really happened. A government drone sent a nasty email to JimRob after being banned from FR for profanity / etc. He swore he would bring Free Republic down.

It was signed joeblow@stateagency.sc.GOV

So someone is on state time, using state property, to harass a political web site, in full violation of many laws and regulations, not the least of which is the Hatch Act????

Hmmmmm......

So many hundreds of intrepid Freepers made polite inquiries to the state authorities, and the individual in question was, in fact, NOT authorized to be harassing a political site or group on state time and using state equipment. This individual was termininated, in full accordance with the laws and regulations of that state, and the state authorities issued a genuine and sincere apology for the harassment.

The Hatch Act is irrelevant. That only applies to federal government, not state.
