American soldier 'killed by airstrike'
BY OLIVER AUGUST
NORTHERN Alliance troops claimed yesterday that a uniformed American soldier had died in an airstrike during the three-day prison siege outside the city of Mazar-i Sharif. According to Afghans who fought alongside US special forces, the body of the dead American was found next to a bomb crater in the centre of the prison camp near an arms dump.
Commander Omar Latif said: The body of the American lay on the ground right here by an iron gate. He was definitely killed during the airstrike.
He said that the body had been retrieved by US special forces yesterday morning and taken to the local US headquarters in Mazar-i Sharifs Turkish school, where up to 50 members of the British and US Forces have been based for the past two weeks.
The dead American may have been a spotter who was guiding bomber pilots to their targets.
The only confirmed American death so far during the fighting in Afghanistan is that of Johnny Mike Spann, 32, a CIA operative, who was the first person to die during the Kala-i Janghi riot. His mutilated body is believed also to have been retrieved.
His father, also called Johnny Spann, said that he considered his son to be a hero. He had joined the CIA from the US Marines two years ago to make the world a better place for us to live in.
We recall him saying that someone has got to do the things that other people dont want to do. Thats exactly what he was doing in Afghanistan, Mr Spann said. His son had three children aged nine, four and six months.
Amnesty International has called on the United States and Britain to investigate killings at the fort. An urgent inquiry should look into what triggered this violent incident, including the response by United Front, US and UK Forces, the group said.
This time they might focus on the truth.
It's just a suggestion.
What do you make of this? I found this guy without any problem. It was all over the news tonight. I am anxious as blue blazes for this young man's family.
1. Osama and Crew Blew up WTC

3. Taliban refused.
4. US attacked Taliban to to prepare way to take Osama and Crew by force.
5. Taliban bombed into surrender.
6. US accepted surrender on good faith.
7. Taliban turned back into combatants by blowing themselves up with hidden weapons and taking Northern Alliance weapons from guards.
8. US dropped bombs on them.
9. Taliban died.
10. Amnesty International blames US for killing people who lie, hide weapons, and engage in suicidal attacks.
11. US sends Amnesty International to Halfgonistan to act as police farce. (yeah, let's see how the "professionals" do it)
Amnesty International = Enemy
They're talking about another person, not the guy from Alabama.
