Wow! How could a NativeNewYorker get to the (san diego)North County Times before anyone from California?(/silent awe)

I heard about this from the local talk radio denizen Roger Hedgecock. I want to know what the heck is the library doing with a cat? If this guy were only alergic to cats the instance could have been life threatening.

"I want to know what the heck is the library doing with a cat?"

Many libraries keep cats for rodent control because mice and rats love to chew on paper.

It's a long standing tradition for libraries to have a cat. My college library has one.

Apparently it is a tradition that started as a way to keep rodents out that chew on the books and damage them.

I think it has something to do with cats and bookstores.
