I haven't heard anything about needing more than one dose, in the reading I've done. Back in the old days (when I was young!) we only received one dose that I can remember. Unless things are different with the modern version, that is. Maybe others can confirm, as I see someone has already.

They give you one dose... if it takes and makes a scar, then OK. After the waiting period (of 2 weeks I think) if it doesn't take and make a scar, they give you another shot to make sure. I guess if that doesn't get a scar reaction, you must have been immune to begin with.
