I think you're seeing a cyclicality that may or may not exist. While history does tend to be cyclical, it is in fact more EPIcyclic than purely repetitive (per Hegel). So whatever form of Deism is born from the "death throes" of Deconstructionism, it isn't likely to be "that Ole Tyme Religion." That is, if we accept in the first place that history isn't linear. Deconstructionism could just as easily be seen as the next step in the dissolution, the spiritual waning, the ultimate victory of entropy over energy, chaos over order, darkness over light.

I'm too much an optimist to accept that dismal outlook, but I may also be in denial.

Thank you all for a discussion that hearkens back to the days before Free Republic became a backwater of booby threads and a hangout for oversexed teenage boys with a hardon and a Commodore 64.
