Qala Jangi, Afghanistan -- Northern Alliance soldiers, backed by U.S. and British special operations forces, said yesterday that they had crushed a revolt by Taliban prisoners inside a 19th century fortress, and described a deadly final battle in which they drove the rebels from their last stronghold by pouring oil into a basement, setting it alight and then opening fire with a tank.

Here's an idea that should be expounded. We have horizontal drilling techniques.....pop a hole in all their tunnels, pump some gas or oil in there and light them up! I've thought this from the beginning........glad someone else had a similar idea.

If we could get close enough to those caves to setup and operate a drilling rig long enough to do as you suggest then we can take them out in other ways even sooner.
